 The Waterford Rescue Squad is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Bruce Ushkow from Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department as our agency's new Medical Director. We welcome Dr. Ushkow to our squad and look forward to his expertise, leadership and medical knowledge. Dr. Bruce Ushkow is the Assistant Director at Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Ushkow joined EMP in 2006 and is a graduate of the 2010 EMP Scholars Program. He currently serves as the EMS and Emergency Critical Care Director at Samaritan Hospital.

Dr. Ushkow received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Health & Society from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY. He earned a self designed Master of Science in Speech Communication from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Ushkow earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. Dr. Ushkow completed his Internship in Internal Medicine then Emergency Medicine Residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where he served as Chief Resident. He remained there as an academic attending for twelve years serving several roles in EMS, EM Residency Training, Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine, and Hazardous Materials Medical Operations.

Dr. Ushkow is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the National Association of EMS Physicians.
